Coalition leaders Nicolae Chuke and Marcel Čolaku say they have not yet made a decision on a possible joint candidate of the PNL and PSD for the capital’s mayor’s office and have not yet discussed the topic in detail.
“Now we have no opportunity to discuss the details. And if we have identified a single candidate, then we need an assessment, a survey. We are interested in the profile of the candidate in the perception of voters,” Chuke said.
Cholaku also noted that “in the next period we will come to the best political decisions.”
They avoided answering the question of who has the best chance of being appointed candidate between Gabriela Firea (PSD) and the liberal Sebastien Bourduilla. “Both. 50% to each,” replied Cholaku with a smile.
He also avoided a decisive answer regarding the situation with the branch town halls in the Capital and a possible agreement on their division.
“It’s not about division, it’s about the best people who can lead. I am convinced that in the next period we will find the best solutions,” Čolaku explained, News.ro reports.
Regarding the amendment to the Administrative Code to support the Coalition’s political ambitions, Chuke says the current mayors must fulfill their mandate to the end. “There needs to be a correlation,” he said.
