The interim president of PSD Bihor, Aurel Mohan, announced on Monday that the liberal mayor of the municipality of Tinka, Teodor Coste, who already has four mandates in which he was elected by the PNL, will run for a new mandate on the lists of the next local elections of the Social Democrats.
Mayor Teodor Coste had three mandates as a member of the local council until 2008 and then four mandates as PNL mayor, PSD president Bihor said at a press conference.
“After discussion with him and the local organization, we agreed that in this year’s local elections in Tincha commune, I have the honor to present him as a PSD candidate. Our doors are open, and we want to bring to the voters the best and most honest candidates in every community of the district who can do the best for their communities, with dedication. As a team, we first of all strive to win trust, because everything starts with trust,” Aurel Mohan said, according to Agerpres.
Three years ago, Mayor Coste had a legal case with ANI over the defunct company and it went all the way to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, where he won the case. In this situation, he resigned as president of the local PNL organization, but after he won the case, a series of disagreements arose with his liberal colleagues, culminating in the organization’s refusal to support him for another term as mayor.
“I will let you run for mayor from the PNL, and I will switch to the PSD after I have a very good cooperation with the local councilors over time. Since I still have 14 ongoing projects in the commune, worth more than 20 million euros, I want to complete them. I think that my projects give me the courage to continue for another term as mayor of Tinch commune. Let me be calm,” said the mayor of Tincha commune.
