The statement does not specify where and when the commander from Dagestan was wounded.

On February 14, Colonel Magomedali Magomedzhanov, who was the deputy commander of the 18th Army, died.

According to the head of the Republic of Dagestan, Serhii Melikov, Magomedzhanov previously participated in Russia’s military operations in the North Caucasus and Dagestan before carrying out missions in Syria.

According to the UK Ministry of Defence, Russia’s 18th Combined Arms Army was formed last August to “free up more experienced units to fight in key areas” in Ukraine.

Thus, Magomedali Magomedzhanov probably led the “alloy” of other units operating in the Kherson region, including the 22nd Army Corps, which usually forms the Russian garrison in occupied Crimea, the agency said.
