​While the civilized world is stunned by the death in prison of the Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, Kremlin propagandists are trying to ridicule any attempt to link this tragedy to Putin.

When a person dies, you can say words that are hard to imagine – the Telegram channels of the most famous “influencers” of the Kremlin are full of irony and strange reinterpretations of reality in connection with the death of the Russian dissident Oleksii Navalny.

We wanted to see how this tragedy is reflected in the Russian Telegram. We have selected several posts of more famous propagandists.

Margarita Simonyan: “I was waiting to see who would be the first to declare a “political murder”

Margarita Simonyan, the head of the Russia Today TV channel and a well-known supporter of the war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine, was initially restrained and only wrote “Navalny died.”

Later, she made a repost from the Telegram channel: “I received an answer to the interview. Well, thank you, not Carlson.”

The next post referred to the statement of the president of Latvia, who was one of the first to comment on the death of the Russian opponent and declared that “Navalny was brutally killed by the Kremlin.”

“It was hot in the bourgeois press. I was waiting to see who would be the first to declare “politically murdered”. The Guardian seems to be the first. But “Oscar” still went to Latvia – *** (offensive word, means “contraceptive”). I will not even begin to explain to them that everyone has long forgotten (Aleksii Navalny did not) that there was no point in killing him, especially before the elections, that he was beneficial to the opposing forces. No need to explain to them when they already know everything so well.

“We have already received five phone calls from victims of personalized “investigations” of the dead with one text:

“Earth made of glass wool”. Only Great Lent, which has already begun among Armenians, and other similar restrictions prevent me from joining this unanimous sympathy,” wrote Margarita Simonyan.

Serhii Karnaukhov: “We do not commemorate demons”

Journalist Serhii Karnaukhov, who is considered a “follower of Navalny”, i.e., the main critic and whistleblower, published a message about Navalny’s death in his Telegram channel:

“Navalny died. He made his life hell and dragged the whole country there. He was a traitor, he hated Russia, he despised the history of our people. In short, he was a scoundrel. But God is his judge. I do not give any other comments about the deceased. This is against my religious views. We do not honor demons!”

In another post, he wrote: “I will emphasize one thought. It is clear that the West will use Navalny’s death to launch an unprecedented attack on Russia, impose new sanctions and strengthen the EU for military confrontation. But for this they will need the body of the deceased.

Therefore, Yulia will arrive in Russia on the nearest flight, which will be allocated to the advanced structures of the EU. Experts and representatives of special services will arrive with her, most likely from Great Britain. Navalny’s lifeless body will be taken to Berlin, where an international team will conduct an examination and find out that Navalny was tortured and killed with the terrible poison “Novichok” during his imprisonment.

Karnaukhov later wrote that “Navalny’s sudden death came at exactly the right time – on the opening day of the Munich Security Conference.” Such an event is an ideal information platform for promoting a commercial.”

He also wrote that, in his opinion, Oleksiy Navalny’s wife did not inspire confidence and did not express “enough suffering” in her speech at the Security Conference in Munich.

Volodymyr Solovyov: “The prisoner (Aleksii Navalny – no) got sick after a walk in the colony”

Another Russian propagandist, who usually makes very sharp statements and borders on decency, Volodymyr Solovyov, mostly decided to post official information, the reaction of representatives of the Russian authorities. Solovyov is a TV presenter on “Russia 1” and a member of Vladimir Putin’s “United Russia” party.

This is what the TV presenter wrote today:

• The prisoner (Aleksii Navalny – no) became ill after a walk in the colony, the office of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Yamalo-Nenets District reported.
• Regarding Navalny, all the necessary resuscitation measures were carried out, but they did not give positive results, the department noted.
• The commission of the central apparatus of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia will be sent to the colony, the agency’s press service reported. Peskov noted that the Federal Penitentiary Service handles all inspections, no special instructions are required, the cause of death will be determined by doctors.
• Putin was informed of Navalny’s death, writes Kommersant with reference to Peskov. The investigative committee of the region organized a procedural review of Navalny’s death: all necessary measures are being taken.

Ksenia Sobchak says that TV channels were ordered to cover Navalny’s death

Journalist Ksenia Sobchak, who presents herself as an opponent of Putin and condemns the war in Ukraine, wrote in her Telegram channel that, according to her sources, federal TV channels received an order from the Kremlin to cover the news of Navalny’s death. official statements on this topic.
