Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Friday accused Washington of “generalized accusations” after US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken held Moscow “responsible” for the death in custody of dissident Alexei Navalny, AFP reported.

“Instead of making radical accusations, it is better to show restraint and wait for the official results of the medical examination,” the Russian diplomacy said in a statement.

The President of the Russian Duma believes that Navalny’s death is beneficial to the West

The speaker of the lower house of the Russian parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin, said that the leaders of the West and Ukraine are to blame for the death of the Russian dissident.

“Their names are well known: from NATO Secretary General and American leaders to (German) Olaf Scholz, (British) Rishi Sunak and (Ukrainian) Volodymyr Zelenskyi, all are responsible for Navalny’s death. They are the ones who, with their numerous unsuccessful decisions (…) are profiting from his death,” he wrote in Telegram, without specifying this charge, but accusing the West of wanting to “destroy Russia.”
