​A strong fire broke out on Thursday morning in Cluj-Napoca, on Calea Bacului. After about an hour of work, firefighters managed to extinguish the fire.

The fire was visible from several districts of Cluj, writes the local publication monitorulcj.ro.

“Firefighters from units 1, 2 and Turda are currently involved with 6 special trucks and 2 truck ladders to extinguish the fire that engulfed the hall located on Calea Bachului in the municipality of Cluj-Napoca. The emergency call came in around 7:30. There are still no people seeking medical help. As a preventive measure, the SMURD brigade was also dispatched to the site,” ISU Cluj reported, according to the previously cited source.

A Ro-Alert has been issued to residents in the area urging them to stay indoors and avoid the area.

After the fire was contained, Cluj firefighters turned to their colleagues from Bihor and Salaj counties for support.

“Two special fire trucks from ISU Bihor and Sălaj have been called for support,” announced ISU Cluj representatives.
