Alexandru Rafila told Prima News about the cyber attack that data transmission was blocked by the attack and several hospitals were shut down so that the effects of the attack were not spread and possible data leaks were as small as possible.

The minister noted that some hospitals have resumed work, but not all.

“Good news, Bitdefender has offered an IT security solution for all hospitals in Romania – free of charge, for at least one year,” Minister Rafila announced.

He noted that they will work with the DNSC and other agencies to create clear legislation and clear regulations on the protection of medical data.

“We are at the first stage of informatization of the health care system, this applies not only to hospitals, but also to the ministry, health care departments, and all these systems must be integrated,” the minister also noted.
