
On Tuesday morning, DNA prosecutors searched more than 20 addresses in the capital and in three districts, including the headquarters of the Bucharest Regional Customs Directorate, in a case in which several customs officers are suspected of receiving bribes, judicial sources told HotNews.ro. . At the same time, the Chief Anti-Corruption Directorate in the Nădlac II Control and Collection Agency was removed, the investigation also focused on bribery.
In a DNA press release, it was reported that the prosecutor’s office is investigating a criminal case regarding suspicions of corruption committed in 2021-2024 by public officials while performing their official duties.
In this case, on Tuesday morning, searches took place in 20 locations in Bucharest and in the counties of Ilfov, Dambovitsa and Giurgiu, one of which is at the headquarters of a state institution, the rest at the residences of individuals and the headquarters of companies.
Judicial sources told HotNews.ro that the state agency conducting the searches is the Bucharest Regional Customs Administration, the investigation targeting customs officers suspected of accepting bribes from drivers to allow undocumented or counterfeit goods to enter the country.
In parallel, the General Anti-Corruption Directorate is raiding the Nădlac II Control and Collection Agency on Tuesday, the investigation is also aimed at bribery, judicial sources told HotNews.ro.
According to the cited sources, the target will be employees of the Regional Road and Bridge Authority of Timisoara.
