During the night, Russia attacked the territory of Ukraine with dozens of drones, targeting mainly Kyiv, as well as Odesa and Mykolaiv.

However, the authorities of the Republic of Moldova believe, based on the information received from the Ukrainian side, that it is about the remnants of the drone attack that took place last night, from February 9 to 10, when the Izmail district is located near the border with the Republic of Moldova.

“There is a suspicion that the discovered wreckage of the drone is one of the drones shot down by the Ukrainian anti-aircraft system. In order to eliminate misinformation and panic among citizens, we ask you to remain calm and receive information only from official sources,” the IGPF press release states.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in February 2022, fragments of rockets have fallen on the territory of the Republic of Moldova several times. The remains were found in the settlements of Naslavcha, Larga, Chitsani and Giska.

On the night of Friday to Saturday, when the attack on Izmail took place, the Romanian authorities sent out RO-Alert messages in the counties of Tulcea and Galați to warn the population about the possible fall of drone debris. At the same time, Turkish Air Force F-16s from Feteşti were flown to check the airspace, but no “unauthorized incursions” were reported.
