A large Ukrainian ship has requested Romanian assistance in the Black Sea after a man fell overboard off the Romanian coast, the Romanian Maritime Rescue Agency said.

The crew of the NAFTERUDOVOZ-45M vessel under the flag of Ukraine reported that there was a MOB (Man Over Board) incident, a person fell overboard.

The SAR APOLLO vessel from the ARSVOM, as well as the MAI vessel, was declared to be the coordinator of the on-site search operations at the indicated location of the MRCC.

“They started a search operation,” the source was quoted as saying.

According to the specialized website Marinetraffic, the vessel left the Turkish port of Eregli on Thursday morning and is expected to arrive in Sulina on Saturday evening.

NAFTERODUVOZ-45M is a large vessel with a length of 120 meters, which can transport both crude oil and ore or other dry cargoes.
