The new district headquarters of the AUR party in the city of Craiova was vandalized on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, before its grand opening in the presence of the president of the political formation, George Simion, claims the district leader of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians.
President of AUR Dolj, MP Ringo Demurianu stated on Thursday during a press conference that offensive messages were pasted on the window of the AUR headquarters.
According to him, the vandalism of the headquarters is related to the party’s protest action on Wednesday evening, when the members of the formation went to the PNL and PSD headquarters, and at the PSD headquarters they were met by several party members who carried posters with the same message.
“Here, PSD not only imposes democracy, it turns to bandit attacks. PSD Dolj extremists destroyed the AUR headquarters. Immediately before the grand opening, in the presence of President George Simion, the regional headquarters of the AUR, located in Craiova, Dr. Ioana Cantacuzino street no. 8B, was destroyed (…). On Wednesday evening, on the eve of the AUR protest against the unification of local and European parliamentary elections, members of PSD Craiova and their sympathizers (…) were encouraged to organize a counter-demonstration. AUR members did not want to face the hooligans invited by Ms. Vasilescu’s team and kept their march and protest quiet, an aspect that visibly disturbed the Pedestist extremists, who immediately went on the attack: publicly attacking Doljena representatives of the opposition and vandalizing the AUR headquarters.” – said Ringo Demuryan, as quoted by Agerpres.
Demurianu also stated that they will not file a complaint with the police, because “the safety and confidence of Ms. Olgutsa Vasilescu speak for much more than a complaint with the police.”
On Wednesday evening, a protest action of AUR was held in the center of the capital against the intention of the ruling coalition to cancel this year’s elections. Demonstrators marched to the SPD and NLP headquarters with a coffin and crosses to the musical background of the funeral procession.
Party leader George Simion took part in a demonstration in Timisoara, while similar events were organized in other cities.
At the PSD headquarters in Bucharest, there were several messages on the fence for those from the AUR: “We do not accept thugs”, “Zero laws, only rape” and a pointer to the Russian embassy, according to News.ro. .
