​Naomi Osaka suffered her third straight defeat on her return to tennis as the former WTA top seed crashed out of the Abu Dhabi tournament in the first round.

The 26-year-old Japanese was defeated in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0, by Danielle Collins (the American came from qualifying and is currently ranked 71st in the WTA rankings).

Having reached 757th in the world after more than a year of inactivity, the Japanese used a wild card to be able to compete in the main draw in Abu Dhabi.
