Ana Bohdan made her debut at the “WTA 250” tournament in Cluj-Napoca, winning in two sets against American Alicia Parks with a score of 7-5, 7-5.

Alicia Parks (110 WTA) started the match with the eighth favorite of the competition Ana Bohdan in strength.

Leading 3-1, the Romanian leveled the match and won the first set, avoiding a tiebreak.

The second set started perfectly for Bohdan (65 WTA), who led 4-0, but inexplicably lost the initiative and the American made it 5-5.

With a last-ditch effort, Ana won two games in a row and ended the match after two hours and four minutes.

In the second round, Ana Bohdan will meet the winner between Anka Alexia Todoni (230 WTA) and Erika Andreeva (112 WTA).

Transylvania Open will be held from February 5 to 11 in Cluj-Napoca. The tournament is held on closed hard, is part of the WTA 250 category and has a total prize pool of $267,082.

The competition was held three more times: 2021 (Anette Kontaveit won, score 6-2, 6-3, after the final with Simona Halep), 2022 (Anna Blinkova won, score 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, with Jasmine Paoloni ) and 2023 (Tamara Korpatch lifted the trophy after 6-3, 6-4 with Gabriela Ruse).
