MP Dumitru Koarne announced that he was leaving the AUR along with “the entire branch” of the party in Kalaras, blaming, among other things, the leadership’s refusal to create district branches. The AUR responded by saying that Koarne had in fact been expelled from the AUR after he had created, without the approval of the leadership, financial documents that were not in the party documents: “He created a system in which he kept the membership and the financial part per physicist.”

Dumitru Koarne, MP for Kelerasi, elected on the PSD parliamentary lists, was expelled from the political formation in June 2023 after he was part of a group of four parliamentarians who met with Russian Ambassador Valery Kuzmin on the “Memorandum on Romania’s Neutrality, the Bucharest Peace “. The delegation also included Senator Diana Shoshoake and MPs Mihai Laska and Francis Toba. Koarne then announced that he had joined the AUR.

Koarne announced on Facebook on Sunday that “the entire AUR branch in Calarasi has decided to leave the party en masse,” without saying exactly how many people.

He claims that the reasons for resignation would be:

• “Non-fulfilment of the provisions of the law on political parties (14/2003) by the national leadership of the party;
• Non-fulfillment of the AUR statute by the central management;
• Refusal to create county offices.”

AUR: “Reserve Joining and Finance Per Person”

The AUR also responded on Facebook, stating that Koarne had in fact been kicked out of the AUR:

• “In the case of Kelerashi County and Mr. Dumitru Koarne, at the party leadership forums, he was asked to provide the originals and scanned copies of the adhesions made at the AUR branch in Kelerashi.
• In addition, Mr. Dumitru Koarne prepared, without the permission of the party leadership or the finance department, financial documents that are not in the party documents.
• His Majesty refused to respond to all requests from the central leadership of the party, transfer the affiliation, and respect the legal and statutory framework of the party regarding financial activities, and as a result, on January 29, he sent that he no longer has representation in the AUR party.
• As a result of repeated refusals, Mr Coarne was this week served with a physical summons on these aspects. His Eminence refused to receive the representatives of the General Secretariat of the AUR, expelling them from the parallel office he created for the AUR Călăraşi.”

AUR also accuses Coarne of trying to “implement in AUR Călărași all the toxic working mechanisms that he tried to apply in other formations from which he left or was removed”: “He refused to promote people on the basis of meritocracy, creating a system in which he retained membership and the financial part per person”.
