Russia has regularly used Engels Air Base, located about 730 kilometers southeast of Moscow and hundreds of kilometers from Ukraine, to attack Ukraine with cruise missile aircraft.

The GUR did not take responsibility for the attack, but assumed that it was involved: “We remind you that all war criminals face punishment – we know your names, addresses, car numbers, routes and usual habits.”
