According to Russian Telegram channels Mash and Shot, Halyna S. was manipulated by “Ukrainian fraudsters”, who also persuaded her to borrow money.

Russian authorities accuse her of posting a “video in support of the Ukrainian army” on the Internet on Sunday, after which she “set fire to a school” in Cheboksary, in the center of Russia.

“The fire was quickly extinguished, no one was injured,” the local investigative committee said in a statement.

Teacher accused of “terrorist attack”

An investigation under the article “terrorist act” has been opened, and the teacher has been remanded in custody for two months, the committee reports.

Since the beginning of the Russian offensive in Ukraine in February 2022, many people have been arrested on charges of preparing sabotage or countering Moscow’s attack on Kyiv.

As the Telegram channel Shot reports, this teacher was contacted by Ukrainians who introduced themselves as agents of the Russian Security Service (FSB).

On their order, she borrowed money from relatives who expressed concern about her “strange behavior” last summer, reports Mash.
