
North Korea fired several cruise missiles into waters off its west coast on Tuesday, the South Korean military said, the latest launch in a series of tests by Pyongyang this year. Agerpres.
South Korea detected several (unidentified) cruise missiles launched into North Korea’s West Sea (also known as the Yellow Sea) at around 7:00 a.m. local time (10:00 p.m. GMT Monday), according to a state statement by Interarmes Maj.
According to the same source, the intelligence services of the United States and South Korea “are now conducting a detailed analysis.”
“Our military is working closely with the United States, increasing surveillance and vigilance, and closely monitoring North Korea’s activities,” the statement added.
Unlike ballistic missile tests, cruise missile tests are not prohibited by UN sanctions against Pyongyang.
North Korea also fired cruise missiles into the Yellow Sea on Wednesday, claiming they were next-generation missiles. It also conducted another test on Sunday, according to South Korea’s military
