Scuderia Ferrari announced two exciting moves on Saturday, with the 18-year-old British reserve driver and Charles Leclerc’s brother Arthur joining the team this year.
Oliver Berman, Ferrari’s new reserve driver
On Saturday, the Ferrari team added Oliver Biermann to the list of reserve drivers. The 18-year-old Briton, who competes in Formula 2, joins Italian Antonio Giovinazzi and Israeli Robert Schwartzman.
With the latter two also competing in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), there is no certainty that they will be able to compete in each of the 24 Grands Prix scheduled for next season (starting with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 2).
The two main Ferrari drivers will be Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr.
Next week, the Scuderia will conduct a tire test at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. SF 2023 and two-year-old F1-75 tires will be used. Oliver Berman will take part in these tests.
On the other hand, Arthur Leclerc (23), the younger brother of Charles Leclerc, has joined the Ferrari development team along with Italians Antonio Fuoco and Davide Rigon, according to News.ro.
They will be working on the simulator in Maranello when not competing in GT Italy or the WEC. Arthur Leclerc will also be in Barcelona next week, driving an F1 car for the first time.
