In 2023, a first took place in the automotive world: the best-selling electric car in the world is the Tesla Model Y. For the first time, this car also became the best-selling model in Europe, not far behind the Dacia Sandero.

Last year, Tesla Model Y found 1.2 million customers in the world. Toyota RAV4 is in second place with 1.07 million cars, and Toyota Corolla found 1.01 million buyers.

Almost 2,100 Tesla Model Y cars were sold in Romania, which means the second place among electric cars after the Dacia Spring with more than 6,000.

Tesla Model Y found 255,000 customers in Europe, and Dacia Sandero has 236,000 units.

455,000 Model Y vehicles were sold in China, a 45% increase over 2022.

Two out of three Tesla cars sold globally last year were Model Ys. The fact that Tesla also lowered prices also made a difference.

And in Romania, Model Y accounted for 2/3 of the total, and Tesla Motors sales exceeded 3,200 cars, three times more than in 2022.
