
The Commissioner for Consumer Protection (CJPC) of Mures announced on Wednesday that it has temporarily closed Tirgu Mures’ largest shopping center, Shopping City, after inspectors found cockroaches in both some food storage areas and the production area, and and in the corridors, reports Agerpres.
“Following a notification sent to the CJPC Mures headquarters on the afternoon of January 23, 2024, which stated the presence of cockroaches in the premises of an economic operator, the commissioners conducted a wide control action in several economic operators – catering. suppliers from the Shopping City complex in Tirgu Mures. Thus, in four catering establishments, cockroaches were found in the premises for storing raw materials and products, as well as in adjacent premises (halls, compartments for storing detergents, various annexes, etc.). A temporary suspension of catering services has been issued (…) A temporary suspension has been announced for the entire Shopping City Târgu Mureş complex until the deficiencies are rectified. The total amount of sanctions applied is 20,000 lei,” the CJPC of Mures announced in a press release.
CJPC Mureş also found other deficiencies, such as: lack of lids on waste baskets, drinking straws and napkins that are not individually packed, not protected from contamination, lack of tables for replacing waste oils, inconsistencies in compatibility. in refrigeration equipment for food storage/preservation, containers with sauces without an expiration date, containers with oil stored directly on the sidewalk, etc. Photo source Dreamstime
