
On Saturday, the police conducted two raids in the county of Mures in a criminal case involving the organization of dog fights and unauthorized surgeries. Two dogs were issued a protection order, writes News.ro
“On January 20, 2024, police officers of the Mures Animal Protection Bureau executed two search warrants in Mures County, in a criminal case investigating the crimes of organizing dog fights, as well as participating in such fights and unauthorized surgical interventions with dogs ( plucking out ears),” Romanian police said on Saturday.
The quoted source said the dog was found with its ears cropped and ordered to be placed in a shelter because it had been used in dog fighting.
“Several documents and a mobile phone were also seized for further investigation. The police applied to the owner of the dog samples four contravention sanctions, according to GEO no. 155/2001 on the approval of the program for the treatment of stray dogs and the Law No. 205 of 2004 on the protection of animals, in the amount of 8,000 lei,” the quoted source said.
At the same time, according to the source, an order was issued to place in the shelter another individual dog without a microchip, unsterilized, which is kept in inappropriate conditions.
