In his weekly editorial in the Daily Mail, the former prime minister said that if Trump supports Ukraine in its war against Russia, his return to power “could be a great victory for the world,” according to News.ro.

However, Trump has repeatedly questioned Kyiv’s continued US support if re-elected, while boasting of his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump, who has also repeatedly openly criticized NATO, has said for years that he could end Russia’s war against Ukraine within 24 hours.

“I simply cannot believe that Trump will give up on Ukrainians; On the contrary, having realized, as he certainly has, that there is no deal with Putin, I think there is a good chance that he will redouble his efforts and finish what he started by giving them what they need to win. If so, there is every chance that the West will become stronger and the world more stable under Trump’s leadership,” Johnson wrote.

On Friday, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, invited Trump, who is the favorite to win the Republican nomination for the White House, to visit Kyiv.

In an interview with Channel 4 News, the Ukrainian leader said: “Yes, please, Donald Trump – I invite you to Ukraine. If you can stop the war in 24 hours, I think it will be enough for you to come to Kyiv any day I am here.”
