​The vertical corridor aimed at transporting gas from Greece to Romania is expanding, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Friday for the co-optation of three new operators: GTSO from Ukraine, Vestmoldtransgaz from the Republic of Moldova, Eustream from Slovakia, Transgaz reports. , Romanian gas carrier. It will be a two-way corridor of natural gas flows from Greece to Ukraine and vice versa. Through this corridor, gas will be imported from liquefied gas terminals in Greece.

Market test in July 2024

The project mainly involves operators from Greece (DESFA, Gastrade), Bulgaria (ICGB, Bulgartrangaz), Romania (Transgaz), Hungary (FGSZ) and Slovakia (Eustream).

The involved parties agreed to simultaneously conduct in July 2024, a year ahead of schedule, a mandatory market test for the allocation of power to

their respective connection points according to the European Commission CAM (EC) Regulation.

Subsequently, based on user interests, they will identify and measure the most appropriate and targeted capacity expansion projects needed to meet demand along the vertical corridor route.
