
Three other employees of the Botoshan District Emergency Hospital are being investigated and placed under judicial control in a case of fraud involving job competitions at the largest hospital in Botoshan District, DNA announced. According to prosecutors, they provided some candidates with items set by the competition commission, and the bribe reached 10,000 lei per position.
On Tuesday, DNA reported that the prosecutor’s office has opened criminal proceedings in the case of three more hospital workers who were placed under judicial control:
- Mirela Titilyuk, at the time of the events, assistant to the head of the infectious disease department for adults of the district hospital, for two crimes in the form of bribery,
- Anka Surudiu, Assistant Coordinator of the Department of Psychiatric Care of the Regional Emergency Hospital, for continuously accepting bribes and using in any way, directly or indirectly, information that is not intended for publication, or giving unauthorized persons access to this information for the purpose of receiving money, things or other unlawful benefit for oneself or another person,
- Claudio Anicei, at the time of the crime, an employee of the Botosani District Hospital, for the crime of using in any way, directly or indirectly, information that is not intended to be made public, or giving unauthorized persons access to this information in order to obtain for himself or for another person money, things or other illegal benefit.
Allegations brought by DNA against three workers at Botoshani District Hospital
According to the prosecutors, in the period 2020-2022, Mirela Titilyuk, Anka Surugiu and Claudiu Anicei had different capacities in the examination boards created in the Botoşani District Emergency Hospital for the positions of electrician, unskilled worker who supervises dangerous mentally ill patients, novice paramedic at a fixed term and a nurse.
In this context, Anka Surugiou and Claudio Anicei would provide some candidates with subjects determined by the committee to be presented in the competitive tests in order to facilitate their advancement, obtaining a minimum grade, namely a grade of 7.00. .
Prosecutors also say that Mirela Titiluk and Anka Surugiu solicited and received, directly or through intermediaries, goods and sums of money between 500 and 10,000 lei from other candidates. Subsequently, thanks to the help of the defendants, all the candidates passed the competitions for which they applied.
During the period during which they are under judicial control, the three hospital workers must fulfill a number of obligations, including not leaving the country without prior permission from a judicial authority and not practicing their profession.
According to DNA, other persons are also involved in this case.
