A couple from Cluj opened a criminal case for theft after they tried to leave a hypermarket in Bistrica with products worth approximately 3,000 lei.

“Cognac, prosecco, beef, prawns, fruit… all these items could have been a perfect weekend dinner, but instead they opened a criminal case for theft for two courses!” said the spokesperson of IJJ Bistrita – Năsăud Giorgeta Keshvan.

According to the quoted source, two men, aged 27 and 29 respectively, living in Dei, Cluj County, tried to take several products from the store without paying for them, Gazeta de Bistrița and Știri de Cluj reported. .

“A man and a woman chose several products from the shelves of a hypermarket in the municipality of Bystrytsia, for which they did not intend to pay in full, passing by the express cash registers, scanning only a part of them. The two had several types of alcoholic beverages, food and non-food items in their shopping cart, and they went to the express houses area, where they paid for only a portion of it,” Bystrica police said.

The total value of the stolen goods is almost 3,000 hryvnias.
