Minister of Culture Raluka Tsurkan was asked on the Political Insider show, broadcast on Prima TV on Saturday, whether Nicolae Chuke would be the winning card for the PNL in the presidential election.

“Nicolae Chuke is a person with a very carefully built professional career. He is a person with firm values. From my point of view, he is an asset for politics and as party president, if the PNL team mobilizes and succeeds in strengthening the values supported by the party president, he has every chance to become a winning card, not only for PNL but also for Romania . If every person in the party unites around the strategy adopted by the PNL, the party can make a good impression in the European Parliament elections, even if it will be a difficult election,” said Raluka Tsurkan, Political Insider.

“I believe in the political qualities of Mr. Helwig”

Raluka Tsurkan was also asked if the former director of the SRI, Eduard Helwig, could open the PNL list in the European Parliament elections.

“I can’t say whether I see him at the top of the list or not, but Eduard Helwig is someone who offered a lot to PNL before he became director of SRI, and if he wants to come back to PNL, he really has a place, and even it can help PNL, it can be good for PNL project. I believe in the political qualities of Mr. Helwig. He is a person who would have a well-deserved place in the PNL under the conditions in which he wants to return,” Tsurkan explained.

When asked if he sees Eduard Helwig as a presidential candidate, Raluka Tsurkan replied: “It is unacceptable for me to speak if I see him as a presidential candidate. You know, as they say: we all have a marshal’s baton in our bag.” (news.ro)
