“Yellow,” released in 2000 and opening the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show, is the band’s sixth video to reach more than 1 billion views on YouTube. Other videos in the Billion Views Club include “Paradise”, “Adventure of a Lifetime”, “Something Just Like This” (with The Chainsmokers), “The Scientist” and “Hymn for the Weekend”.

The video consists of one continuous shot with no cuts, a clear departure from the band’s later videos, which were made with CGI and multiple sets.

“Yellow” was the lead single from Parachutes, the band’s Grammy Award-winning debut studio album (Best Alternative Album in 2002).

In the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “Yellow” climbed to 48th place, and “Parachutes” reached 51st place, writes News.ro.

The band currently has two Hot 100 chart presences: 2008’s “Viva La Vida” and 2021’s “My Universe” (with BTS).

Last year, Coldplay continued their Music of the Spheres world tour, which earned them the award for Best Rock Act on Tour at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.

According to Billboard Boxscore, the Music of the Spheres World Tour was the biggest rock tour of 2023 and the second biggest tour of all genres. Since launching in 2022, it has generated $664.5 million in revenue and sold 6.7 million tickets.
