Real Madrid reached the final of the Spanish Super Cup after beating Atletico Madrid 5-3 at the end of a crazy game with 8 goals and plenty of chances from both sides.

Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid put on a real show in Riyadh, in the first semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup.

At Al Awwal Park, Diego Simeone’s side opened the scoring in the 6th minute through Hermoso, but Real restored parity with Rudiger’s header (20 min).

Los Blancos took the lead after 9 minutes when Ferlan Mendy curled a superb corner kick into Oblak’s goal.

Before the break, Antoine Griezmann made the score 2-2 after a personal action of all beauty (min. 37) and became the top scorer in the history of “Atletico Madrid” with 174 successes.

In the second half, Atlético played more defensively, but even so, they made it 3-2 in the 78th minute after a blunder by goalkeeper Kepa, who deflected the ball to Rüdiger, who hit the net.

Real did not give up, and Dani Carvajal took the match to extra time, scoring with a powerful free kick (85th minute).

Real also won in extra time, and the penalty was an own goal by Savic (min. 116).

The winner of the Spanish Cup did not stop there and scored once again with Brahim Diaz (min. 120+2).

In the other semi-final, Barcelona will face Osasuna on Thursday at 21:00.
