One person died and two were injured in a collision that occurred on Sunday between two trucks and two cars on the DN2 – E85, in the town of Corden, the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) Neamt reported, Agerpres reports.

Three victims, two from the passenger car and the truck driver, had to be extricated.

“There were two people in one of the cars. They were rescued by firefighters. The SMURD TIM crew performed resuscitation measures on one of them, who was semi-conscious. Unfortunately, the victim, a 23-year-old man, did not respond to resuscitation measures,” the spokesperson said. ISU Neamts, lieutenant Iryna Popa.

The second victim from the car, a 20-year-old young woman, was taken conscious by the county ambulance crew for transport to the Romanian Ambulance Center (CPU).

And the driver of the TIR was taken to the Romensky Central Police Station, where the firefighters released him.

Before the rescuers arrived, three more participants in the accident, two from another car and the driver of the second TIR, evacuated on their own.

Traffic in the area of ​​the accident is blocked in both directions.

The police are investigating criminal proceedings on the grounds of involuntary manslaughter and intentional bodily harm.
