Oleksandr Zverev saves two match points and Germany wins the 2024 United Cup

Poland won the first match through Iga Sviatek, who clearly defeated Angelique Kerber 6-3, 6-0.

Returning to the court after a year and a half (she became a mother), Kerber lasted only in the first minutes of the match (3-3 score), but the leader of the WTA ranking raised the level of her game and won the next nine games.

In the second match, Hubert Gurkach faced Oleksandr Zverev and lasted three hours, 7-6(3), (6)6-7, 4-6.

The Pole had two match (and tournament) points in the second set tiebreak at 6-4, but the German made an incredible comeback to level for his country.

In mixed doubles, Laura Siegemund and Oleksandr Zverev beat Iga Svyatek and Hubert Gurkach with a score of 6-4, 5-7, 10-4. The match lasted an hour and 45 minutes.
