PSG is investigating the case of Neymar’s transfer from Barcelona

After 186 games, 105 goals and 76 assists, Neymar moved to Paris Saint-Germain, who moved to Parc des Princes in the summer of 2017 for a record €222 million.

Since then, the multiple champion of France “pumped up” huge sums to attract new players to build around Neymar a “galactic” team that will conquer the UEFA Champions League.

Although he also had impressive numbers at PSG (173 games, 118 goals and 77 assists), Neymar was nothing more than a huge hole in the sheikhs’ pockets.

After 6 years, the Brazilian left for Al Hilal for 90 million euros, but continues to cause problems for the Hexagon group.

In particular, Mundo Deportivo journalists write that PSG is being investigated after the 2017 transfer on the grounds that they would have resorted to influence peddling to “steal” the tens of millions of euros in fees they had to pay for the transfer of the Brazilian.

Hugh Ranson, the former vice-president of the French parliament, allegedly acted in such a way that PSG received certain tax advantages.

Investigators came to this conclusion after listening to several telephone conversations between Hugo Ranson, who was part of President Emmanuel Macron’s party, and a former official of the Parc des Princes club, director of communications Jean Martial Ribes.

In exchange for his “help”, Ranson would receive tickets to Parc des Princes and other perks from the club.

Ranson allegedly sought the “services” of Gerald Darmanin, who at the time held the position of Minister of Finance. Ranson told him he had to deal with “a matter related to PSG”. Ranson later assured those involved, including Nasser Al Khelaifi, that Darmanin was “working on it”.

“My client does not wish to comment at this stage because he knows nothing about the case or the charges against him,” said his lawyer Pascal Garbarini, according to mediapart.fr.
