The governor of a Russian region said on Wednesday that he has ordered the rebuilding of 9 houses that were destroyed after a Moscow Air Force plane mistakenly bombed a village in the country, Reuters reported.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, when the Russian Ministry of Defense reported an “abnormal discharge of ammunition from an aircraft” over the village of Petropavlivka in the Voronezh region in southern Russia.
Governor Oleksandr Gusev said that nine buildings will be restored as soon as possible, and the local school, cultural center and administrative building were also damaged. The village is located at a distance of about 150 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
Rusko admitted yesterday that it had mistakenly bombarded ošni evnesici Petropavlovka in Voronezhské oblasti.

According to the governor, the incident did not result in casualties, but four people were slightly injured. He also stated that the authorities provided psychological counseling to local residents.
“No resident will be left without help, we will support everyone as much as possible,” Gusev promised.
Moscow’s military leadership did not provide additional details about the cause of the disaster, which came as the Russian military launched some of the most powerful missile and drone strikes against Ukraine since the invasion began in February 2022.
Russia threatened Ukraine with “intensification” of airstrikes
The Russian authorities, in turn, blame 25 people who were killed and more than 160 wounded as a result of Ukrainian rocket fire on the city of Belgorod, the administrative capital of the region of the same name on the border between Russia and Ukraine. If the information is true, then the attack would be the bloodiest carried out by Ukrainian troops on the territory of Russia since the beginning of the invasion.
In a speech on Monday, President Vladimir Putin threatened that Russia would “step up” its attacks on targets in Ukraine in response to the bombing of Belgorod.
“We will intensify the strikes, no crime against the civilian population will go unpunished, that’s for sure,” Putin said during a visit to a military hospital, clarifying that these strikes would be carried out “on military facilities.”
“With high-precision weapons, we hit decision-making places, places where soldiers and mercenaries gather, other similar centers, first of all, military facilities. And they are very sensitive, these blows. This is what we will continue to do,” Putin added.
