Nole again complained of pain in his right wrist (he faced these problems in the match with the Czech Jiri Lehecka), but the leader of the ATP ranking also met with a very motivated opponent.
De Minaur (12 ATP) took an hour and a half to beat Djokovic 6-4, 6-4.
Alex played an almost perfect match: he served 7 aces, won 97% of the points played on the first serve (33/34) and did not give the Serb a chance to break.
The Australian checked a break in each set, and in the second set he won three games on serve to 0. De Minaur led 40-0, and in the last game, Djokovic saved the first three match points, but eventually conceded.
