According to Monitorul de Galați, due to the rising water level in the Danube, the access roads for cars on the ferry are partially flooded, writes News.ro.
“Given the increased water level in the Danube, in the coming days, depending on the possibilities and the weather forecast, we will determine what needs to be done, whether we will move the pedestrian bridges or not, and depending on the availability of the necessary cranes. and a tug,” Kosmin Chelbashu, representative of Navrom Trecere Bac, told the quoted source.
The flow of the Danube at the entrance to the country is higher than usual, but there are currently no problems with shipping.
“A high level for this time of year. (…) The long-term average flow at the entrance to the country is 5200 m3/s, today it is 9000, but the forecast is decreasing. We expect it to reach 7000 m3 in the next few days. Indeed, the levels of January are quite high,” said Adrian Meisel, spokesperson for Navrom Trecere BAC.
