Alfa Romeo is turning into a Stake F1 Team, Sauber has announced

Stake (Australian online betting operator), which already appeared on the car and team name last season, will become the sole main sponsor after Alfa Romeo ends its partnership with Sauber after five years.

The team was temporarily registered as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber with the FIA, but Kick, the streaming service owned by Stake’s founders, eventually disappeared. However, Kick has acquired the rights to the Sauber chassis name for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

“Last season marked the beginning of Stake’s journey in Formula 1, and the brand’s new role at the helm of the Stake F1 Team is the next natural and challenging step on that journey,” team spokesman Alessandro Alunni Bravi said.

China’s Zhou Guanyu and Finland’s Valtteri Bottas will remain the team’s two drivers in Formula 1 next year, driving Ferrari-powered single-seaters (Sauber C44s), while Frenchman Theo Purcher, the Formula 2 title-holder, will retain his role as reserve driver.

In the 2026 season, Sauber will become the Audi Formula 1 team.
