Ex-presenter of Russia Today Anton Krasovsky was hospitalized after he became ill, the propagandist wrote in his Telegram channel. Later, the Ukrainian publication Hromadske reported on his poisoning with reference to anonymous sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which is headed by Kyrylo Budanov, The Kyiv Independent notes.

The source did not comment on whether military intelligence was involved in the alleged poisoning. Krasovsky said his health began to deteriorate early last week.

“At the beginning of the week, my stomach hurt, I started to feel nauseous, then I fainted. I was taken to the clinic. I am gradually recovering,” Krasovsky wrote in a Telegram post.

“I am alive, I will live,” added Krasovsky in an audio message released on Sunday.

Previously, the Ukrainian authorities sentenced Krasovsky in absentia to five years in prison for supporting the Russian invasion and calling for the genocide of Ukrainians.

The presenter called for “drowning and burning” Ukrainian children who hate Russia in October 2022. He also added that Ukraine “should not exist at all.”

The comments, made by Krasovsky live on Russia Today, a station banned by the European Union since February 27, shocked international opinion and provoked condemnation, including inside Russia.

Then the head of RT, Margarita Simonyan, announced that the station had “temporarily stopped” cooperation with Krasovsky, calling his statement “wild and disgusting”.

Anton Krasovsky explained the shocking statements about Ukrainian children, apologizing and saying that he may have “slipped” during the show.

In July, the SBU opened another criminal case against him for calling for the killing of Ukrainian children.
