Meteorologists have published new warnings about bad weather. Wind will increase in most of the country, blizzards and quantitative moderate snow in the mountains, blizzards in Maramureş and Transylvania.

The yellow meteorological warning code is in effect from 10:00 on December 23 to 03:00 on December 24, increasing winds are forecast for most of the country, blizzards and quantitatively moderate snow in the mountains, blizzards in Maramures and Transylvania.

“On most of the territory, the wind will increase in places, in general, the speed will be 45…60 km/h. During the day, gusts of 70…80 km/h in Oltenia, Muntenia and Transylvania, in the mountains the speed is 90…100 km/h. In the mountainous part, snow, blizzard, moderately quantitative (20…30 l/m2) in places, visibility will deteriorate significantly. In Maramures and Transylvania, there will be a temporary blizzard and a layer of snow,” ANM reports.

During the same period of time, a severe blizzard warning was issued in the highlands of the Southern and Western Carpathians (generally above 1,500 m).

“In the highlands of the Southern and Western Carpathians (generally above 1,500 m), strong wind, gusts over 110…120 km/h, heavy blizzard, very low visibility and heavy snow,” meteorologists report.

From 3:00 a.m. on December 24 to 10:00 a.m. on December 25, the wind is expected to increase in southern Transylvania, western and southern Oltenia, southwestern Muntenia and the Subcarpathian mountains of Moldova, with a total speed of 55…65 km/h, and in the mountains squalls will exceed 80…90 km/h.

In the mountainous areas and locally in Transylvania on Sunday, December 24, there will be snow, blizzard, precipitation of various nature at night, but the wind will increase in smaller areas and in other areas.

From 3:00 a.m. on December 24 to 8:00 p.m. on December 24, a heavy blizzard is expected in the highlands of the Southern Carpathians (above 1500 m), where the wind speed will exceed 110…120 km/h, visibility will be greatly reduced and there will be Trojan snow.

According to meteorologists’ forecasts, between 20:00 on December 24 and 10:00 on December 25 there will be a heavy blizzard in the highlands of the Eastern Carpathians.

“In the highlands of the Eastern Carpathians (above 1,500 m), there is a heavy blizzard, wind speed over 110…120 km/h, very low visibility and heavy snow. On Monday, December 25, the wind will continue to intensify, locally in the northwest, in the center, in the east and southeast, as well as in the mountains,” the ANM reports.

The capital will have windy weather on Saturday, with gusts of 55…65 km/h in general. The sky will be temporarily cloudy, especially at night, there will be light precipitation, mainly in the form of rain. The maximum temperature will be about 8 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature will be 0…1 degrees.

On Sunday, the sky will be changeable, the wind will be generally moderate, with a speed of 35…45 km/h. Heat values ​​will be higher than the average long-term indicators of the period, so the maximum temperature will be 10…11 degrees, the minimum will be 4…6 degrees.
