
The Roşiori Nord – Bucharest Basarab train derailed on Friday morning at the exit of Zăvestreni station, according to CFR Călători, which said passengers were safe. Another nine trains are standing at nearby stations, writes News.ro.
“This morning, December 22, 2023, at the exit of the Zăvestreni station, in the area of the railway station, the axle of the locomotive of the train R 9304 Roşiori Nord – Bucharest Basarab happened. The passengers are out of any danger and will be taken to their destination by cars operated by CFR Călători from Bucharest railway station,” CFR Călători announced.
Representatives of the bodies investigating the causes of this accident, in accordance with the current rules, as well as the operational team of the railway to clear the track, went there.
The movement of other trains in the affected area is temporarily suspended and will take place in accordance with the operational measures established and ordered by the manager of the railway infrastructure – CFR SA.
According to CFR Infrastructure, rail traffic is interrupted between Zavestreni-Vadu Lat. The derailed train affected the movement of the II line, and the I line was permanently closed for work. Several passenger trains were affected and are standing at nearby stations until they resume traffic (72, 9900, 10090, 11500, 1594, 79, 11612, 9002, 11614).
