The Ministry of Justice is the main institution through which the judiciary is funded, and the increase in allocations for this in 2019 is nothing short of impressive. That year, the ministry’s total budget was 4.352 billion lei, an amount that financed the operating costs of the courts, the ministry itself, as well as the salaries of judges, clerks and other categories of court personnel. In the following years, this amount increased steadily to reach a peak in 2022 of 6.237 billion.
