The president of Forța Dreptei, Ludovic Orbán, said on Digi 24 on Sunday night that Klaus Iohannis disappointed him the most and that he proved that he was a “traitor”. He argued that the head of state is actually the one running the NLP, “not Chuke or Kitsu”, but that during his mandate as NLP president, he was a leader, “with some input on certain topics”. in which there was an interest”.

Orbán made these statements on the Digi 24 show, in which political leaders ask each other questions, while the former PNL president is asked by USR leader Katalin Drula about the politician who has disappointed him the most.

  • “(…) The answer is well known, obviously Johannes. He is a man I believed in, I believed that what he did in Sibiu he could also do for Romania, unfortunately he proved that he is a traitor, a man who lacks compassion.
  • He betrayed the electorate that voted for him, six and a half million people put their hope in Klaus Iohannis that he would lead Romania without the PSD, eliminating the PSD octopus that had infiltrated all state structures (…)
  • He simply returned the SDP to power and practically blocked the development and any prospect of Romania. To me, Yohannis is unrecognizable in his second term. I confess that after January 1, 2021, I no longer recognized Klaus Johannis, in the sense that he is no longer the same. We were in the opposition together, we fought together, let’s remind you, we fought together against Ordinance 13, marches on the Maidan, the referendum on justice, that is, it was still there, not to mention all his statements against the PSD, the PSD. blocked Romania, that the PSD is the biggest evil, that it prevented the democratization and economic development of Romania, after that you brought the PSD to power. I left the PNL when Yohannis forced the PNL leadership to return the PSD to power. (…) Iohannis heads the PNL, not Ciucă or Cîțu,” Ludovic Orbán said.

When asked who led the NLP when he was president, Ludovic Orbán answered: “Me. True, with certain contributions to certain topics in which there was interest. I had to, of course. Only I said and not over time. Maybe that got in the way.”

When asked by Chuke whether he wants to contribute to the strengthening of liberalism or its division in 2024: I find it offensive to talk to me about liberalism

Asked by PNL leader Nicolae Chuke whether he wants to contribute to strengthening liberalism or dividing it in 2024, Ludovic Orbán said he considered it an insult for Chuke to talk to him about liberalism.

  • “It seems insulting to me when Mr. Chuke talks to me about liberalism. I have fed on liberalism since I first got my hands on books of philosophy and history. (..) I think that over time I have shown that I not only think, but also act as a liberal.
  • Today, as long as the PNL is led by people who have nothing to do with liberalism and democracy, who agree with the undemocratic functioning of the PNL, who have trampled all liberal values and principles, as long as the PNL is a servant of the PSD, it has ceased to exist as a liberal party,” Orbán added. .
