​At the age of 83, one of the most outstanding Romanian handball players, two-time world champion, winner of the European Champions Cup as part of Dynamo in 1965, Cesar Nika, has died, reports CS Dinamo.

Born on October 13, 1940 in Kodla. Cesar Nika started his playing career in Chimia Fegarash, with which he won the national handball championship in 2011.

He knew sports consecration when he moved to Dynamo Bucharest in the early 60s.

He won the European Cup in 1965 and became one of the main players of the Romanian national team, with whom he won the world titles in 1964 and 1970, as well as the world bronze in 1967.

Since 1971, Cesar Nika has been involved in a coaching career, marking almost two decades on the bench of the reserve teams of CSU Galatsi, Nitramonia Fegarash and Dinamo Brasov.

He also coached the national senior team that he led to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, News.ro reports.
