Russia’s missile forces have loaded a new Yars intercontinental ballistic missile into a mine at the Kozelsk base in the Kaluga region southwest of Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
The 23-meter-long RS-24 (Yars) missile is designed to carry several independent targeting systems that allow the missile to launch several nuclear warheads at different targets.
“The Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was loaded into the mine launcher at the Kozelsky strategic missile launch complex,” Moscow’s Ministry of Defense reported.
The Ministry of Defense released a video showing a giant rocket being transported to a bunker and loaded into a mine. The video was accompanied by loud rock music.
