Under the motto “Whoever forgot is an accomplice!”, on Saturday evening, 34 years after the December revolution of 1989, football fans from Timisoara organized a march through the streets of Timisoara. They started from Mary’s Square, where it began. popular uprising of 1989.

The youth carried flowers, tricolor flags and flags of the Revolution with the old coat of arms cut out and shouted the inscriptions “Heroes do not die!”, “Honor to them, honor to them, Heroes” and “Freedom”. , along with a victory sign.

The slogans of the time of the revolution, such as “Freedom”, “Timişoara”, “Sin, regret of spilled blood” or “Today in Timisoara, tomorrow in the whole country” were also shouted.

The first stop of the youth, as always, was near the Metropolitan Cathedral. There they shouted slogans and lit torches, after which the participants of the demonstration marched towards the Romanian Opera House.

A popular musical performance was held in front of the Opera House, which covered the chanting of the march. The show continued even during the moment of silence. Upset by this situation, the marchers started booing the show. Then the fans marched to Unity Square and the Revolution Memorial.

The road continued to the Heroes’ cemetery, where fans gathered at the place of eternal sleep of the martyrs.

Young people laid wreaths at the monument dedicated to the martyrs of the revolution in Timisoara and lit candles.
