
Traffic fines will be increased from January 1, 2024, according to the “Train Ordinance” published on Friday evening in the Official Gazette.
The fine will increase from January 1 from 145 lei to 165 lei, according to the Trenulet Decree. Basically, it is set at the level of 5% of the minimum wage guaranteed upon payment.
Currently, the amount of the fine is 145 lei, limited by the following regulations with a value of 2017.
Depending on the violations of the Traffic Rules, fines in the following amounts are imposed on drivers:
- first class – 2 or 3 penalty points;
- 2nd class – 4 or 5 penalty points;
- third class – from 6 to 8 penalty points;
- IV class – from 9 to 20 penalty points;
- Class V – from 21 to 100 penalty points.
- Violations provided for by the V class of sanctions are applied to legal entities.
