The Shox got off to a good start in Nagoya, Japan, winning the first set 12-10. Chen led after two close sets (11-9, 11-8), but Burney leveled after another set won 12-10.
The athlete from China (6th place in the world ranking) played better in the decisive set and without emotion defeated the Romanian Shoks (12th place) with a score of 11-3.
In the quarterfinals, Xingtung Chen will beat compatriot Manya Wang, who beat Xiaoxin Yang (athlete of Monaco) 3-0 (12-10, 11-8, 11-7).
