PSD President Marcel Çolaku says he never comments on poll data, but if Mircea Joane is in the same position as recent polls show, “what’s the point of holding elections,” News.ro quotes. “He has the experience of the presidency, he was a few hours ago,” said Cholaku.

On Digi 24 Monday night, Marcel Čolaka was asked about the polls that put Mircea Joane at the top of the voting plans in the presidential election. “I have never even commented on surveys paid for by PSD. This is the opinion of the survey,” answered Cholaku.

When it was pointed out to him that Mircea Joane was in first place both in terms of trust and the possibility of voting, Çolaku said: “That’s why! So we’re not holding elections anymore, if so… What’s the point of holding elections? He has presidential experience, he was a few hours ago! That’s the end.”

The PSD president also stated that “there are polls and polls.”

“I have no problem, he is in first place, very good to run,” added Cholaku.

He declares that he did not conduct a survey about him. “As for me, I did not conduct surveys. There is no point in saying how Mr. Joane is doing. I’m used to… What, he’s the first politician to do this, he’s trying to create…? The most important candidate for me is the one chosen by my colleagues,” the NSD leader also noted.

Mircea Joane, NATO’s deputy secretary-general, tops the list in terms of willingness to vote in the presidential election with 26.2%, followed by Marcel Çolaku, Diana Shoshoake, George Simion and Nicolae Chouke, according to a survey commissioned by INSCOP. News.ro.

If Joana does not run, the first place will go to Cholak with 27.4% of the vote, followed by Shoshoake, Simion and Chuke.

“It is clear that Diana Shoshoake and George Simion are competing in the same segment of the electorate, which means that an increase in one automatically causes a decrease in the intention to vote for the other,” says INSCOP Research director Remus Štefureak.
