On Friday afternoon, a Malaysian staying at the Ritz went to the police to lodge a complaint. She stated that she went shopping early in the morning and when she returned, the ring she had left in the room was gone.
On Sunday, the Ritz announced that it was not a theft, the gem was found in a vacuum cleaner bag.
“Thanks to a diligent search by security guards, the ring was found this morning,” said hotel officials. “Our client is happy with this news. We would like to thank the Ritz Paris staff who have mobilized so much for this search and work with integrity and professionalism every day.”
