However, he confirmed that no one was injured aboard the Panamanian-flagged vessel and that the attack did not cause pollution.

A few hours ago, the Houthi rebels in Yemen announced that they had carried out an attack.

The rebels also said they hit a Bahamian-flagged cargo ship called the Unity Explorer, which is owned by a British firm.

Britain’s Merchant Marine Operations Agency said it received reports of a drone strike in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and reported drone activity from Yemen, as well as a possible explosion.

The Houthi group claims that the targets were two Israeli ships

According to Reuters, the Houthi group said that the targets were two Israeli ships.

A spokesman for the group said it fired a naval missile at one of the ships and targeted another from an armed drone.

They named the two ships Unity Explorer and Number Nine and said they were targeted after they ignored the group’s warnings.

A series of attacks have been reported in Middle Eastern waters since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.

Last month, Houthi fighters seized a commercial ship bound for Israel.

The group is allied with Iran and controls much of Yemen’s Red Sea coast.

It has previously launched ballistic missiles and military drones at Israel and has vowed to target more Israeli ships.
