The Romanian national team was mocked by the Belgian press, shortly after the two representatives were drawn in the same group for the European Championship in Germany from 2024 in Hamburg.
The draw for the EURO 2024 groups took place in Hamburg on Saturday evening. Romania is in Group E along with Belgium, Slovakia and the winner of the Nations League B play-off (one of Bosnia, Ukraine, Israel and Iceland).
Shortly after the end of the event in Hamburg, the Belgian press created a short portrait of the Romanian national team. The Belgians say that there is no top player among the “tricolors”, and the star of the Romanian team, Nicolae Stanciu, plays in Saudi Arabia, in Damascus.
