Newcastle – Manchester United 1-0 – Arsenal – Wolves 2-1, Premier League
After a less-than-stellar start to the season, a string of wins over Fulham, Luton and Everton have moved Manchester United up to sixth in the table, close to a place in the European Cup Winners’ Cup.
However, the match against Newcastle came and the team coached by Erik ten Heg dominated in every aspect.
Despite taking the lead through Anthony Gordon’s goal in the 56th minute, Newcastle had possession, chances and shots on goal and only bad luck kept the score much higher.
Instead, Arsenal temporarily returned to the top of the rankings after the victory over Wolverhampton.
The Gunners started strongly, with Bukayo Saka in the 6th minute and Martin Odegaard in the 13th minute setting up a first-half goal.
The second half did not bring significant changes, the guests managed to reduce the difference only in the 86th minute thanks to Mateusz Cunha.
The win leaves Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table with 33 points, three more than Manchester City, who travel to Tottenham on Sunday.
